IMAGES OF MACHINE LEARNING SYMPOSIUM PAPERS NOW ONLINE

Images of Machine Learning was an online symposium chaired by Prof. Anna Munster and Prof. Adrian MacKenzie and was held on June 30 – July 1, 2021. Bringing together artists, cultural producers, critical AI scholars, and media and STS thinkers, the sessions critically presented processes, sensibilities, techniques and methods for understanding the operations of images in machine learning. The speakers focussed on how images are reconfiguring the political social and aesthetic conditions for visuality produced by machine learning. Collectively, they asked: how might we come to differently parse images of machine learning?
